Integrative psychotherapy

As an integrative psychotherapist, I bring together different therapeutic approaches that work well together, depending on what each person needs. My work is trauma-focused, drawing on methods like Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, polyvagal theory, emotion-focused therapy, and EMDR.
Each of these approaches offers something different, and when combined, they create a powerful way to heal. Integrative therapy helps you make sense of how past experiences might still be affecting you today, how old wounds can show up as anxiety, self-criticism, or feeling stuck. The aim is to help you reconnect with yourself, find safety in your body, and move towards a more grounded, authentic way of living.

An example of integrative therapy might be combining different approaches in a single session to meet what you need in the moment. For instance, we might use EMDR to process a painful memory, while also drawing on Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore the parts of you that hold that pain. Alongside that, attachment-based and polyvagal work can help you feel safe and grounded in your body as those emotions surface.
Integrative therapy isn’t about following a set formula. It’s about listening carefully to what’s happening for you and using the right tools at the right time. The combination helps you not only understand your experiences but also gently transform how you relate to yourself and others.

CBT, or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, focuses mainly on how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact in the present moment. It offers practical tools to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and build new habits, which can be really effective for managing anxiety or depression.
Integrative therapy, on the other hand, takes a broader and more flexible approach. It includes CBT techniques when they’re useful but also draws on other methods - like IFS, attachment work, EMDR, and polyvagal theory - to explore the deeper emotional and relational layers beneath your current struggles. Rather than just changing thoughts, integrative therapy helps you understand where those thoughts come from and how old experiences might still be shaping how you feel and respond today.
-
In a therapy session, we focus on what’s most present for you; your thoughts, feelings, body sensations, and experiences. Sessions are flexible: sometimes we talk through challenges, sometimes we pause to notice how your body reacts, and other times we work with exercises or techniques that help you feel more grounded and connected.
The session is a collaborative space. You guide where we go, and I provide support, tools, and perspective to help you make sense of what’s happening for you. There’s no pressure to have all the answers or “fix” everything in one session; the process is about exploring, understanding, and gently discovering ways to feel more whole and resilient over time.

Therapy can help with a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship struggles, and patterns that keep showing up in your life.
It’s also especially helpful for life transitions and for the unique challenges of being an expat. Having lived and worked abroad myself, I understand what it’s like to adjust to a new country, navigate a new culture, and find a sense of connection and home. Therapy can provide support, understanding, and tools to help you feel more grounded and resilient in these experiences.

Yes! I offer a 15-minute free introductory session online. This is a chance to meet, ask questions, and see if my approach feels like a good fit for you. There’s no pressure - it’s simply an opportunity to connect and get a sense of how we might work together.
-
Each therapy session lasts 60 minutes and costs €60. Sessions are usually held weekly, but we can adjust the frequency to suit your needs and pace.
How long therapy takes varies from person to person; some people come for a few months to work through a specific issue, while others stay longer for deeper exploration and ongoing support. We’ll talk together about what feels right for you.
